WP-US-Expansion-global-ITADThe only constant in business is change and in order to remain a leader it must evolve to the dynamic needs of its customers. Following the recent announcement by Sims to implement a five year strategic plan for restructuring its focus in response to changing market demands, Sims took some time to identify significant service demands within the market.

With the decision to focus on enhancing offerings for global IT asset disposition (ITAD), Sims has created a newly formalized business process to provide a single coordinated service delivery model for global companies.

“Few companies have the infrastructure to support a global ITAD program. Customers gain efficiencies in using a standardized service and are better able to meet corporate and legislative compliance requirements,” stated Steve Skurnac, president of Sims Recycling Solutions. “Our knowledge of international markets and regulations allows us to protect customers from fines, penalties and adverse publicity in the responsible disposition of their assets.”

Sims is also expanding product innovation for computing and mobility at the Dumfries and Glasgow sites and is enlarging its footprint around London.

“We are in the process of establishing a larger site in the London metro area,” stated Dr. Anand Narasimhan, director, UK and Europe. “This will complement our capabilities in Dumfries and Glasgow and position us to provide more distributed, innovative and efficient asset management services to our customers throughout the United Kingdom.”

Sims’ superior performance in offering global resale, redeployment and recycling services was recognized in Gartner’s most recent Magic Quadrant for IT Asset Disposition, Worldwide. Positioned as a “Leader” Sims was identified as a company that in this category is defined to “execute well against a robust vision” and is “well-positioned for the future”.
